We wanted to create the “Next generation Cruiser”, a yacht that is compact in size, but spacious on and below decks. One with good sailing performance, but easy to handle and above all something that is pleasing to look at and with lots of nice features which gives the yacht a rich feel of style and quality.
We wanted to get away from that and narrow the gap between sports boat and cruiser racer in order to make the boat more exciting and as such attract the appeal from those with dinghy and sports boat experience who want to go bigger but still like the feel and performance they are accustomed to in smaller boats.
By using Fareast’s experience in vacuum injection molding with a high level of efficiency and small fitting tolerances, we designed a complete modular construction for the hull, deck and interior. This allows for a lightweight composite construction not only in the hull and deck but also for the interior modules leaving sufficient weight in reserve for the necessary mechanical and electrical components required in a modern day cruiser/racer. The net result is a structure which is about 40% lighter overall than an equivalent traditional built yacht.
